Howdy, I'm Sean.
I grew up here in the Pacific Northwest. The streets, forests, mountains and ocean were my playgrounds, still are.
Growing up we discovered these epic things that hardly anyone knew much about, because they were just being pioneered; bmx, skateboarding, punk rock, mountain biking, rap, snowboarding, cold water surfing. I fell in love with all of it, the action, the adventure, the art and the photography. These obsessions have influenced my work and life permanently.
My love of snowboarding and illustrating took me straight from the mountain to a dream job in the early days of the snowboarding industry for the best company ever, Mervin Manufacturing, builders of Lib Tech and Gnu. We were the anti-heroes of the industry and did whatever we wanted to. I learned everything in real time, from board graphics to stickers to hats to shirts, catalogs, websites, ads, beanies, embroidery, bag design, boot design, trade shows, I did it all, every year for over ten years. It was rad!
Then on to Wieden + Kennedy where I worked as a studio designer for 2 years and then as an art director for another 2 years. I worked on the Electronic Arts account as well as Nike, Heineken and Target. We made a lot of stuff: TV ads, print campaigns, out of home, some stunts, good fun and busy as hell!
I then went to Razorfish, an all digital creative agency and proceeded to once again learn a lot and make a lot of stuff! I got to do nearly every digital thing you can think of, from full blown interactive experiences to apps to every conceivable ad unit to integrated cross-platform campaigns. While there I worked on the Coors Light account and then Microsoft, specifically on Bing, and mostly XBOX ONE game title releases.
My amazing wife and I have three sons aged 18, 14 and 9, and they are SO RAD!!! I just had to throw that in because it’s such a major part of our lives and they are just as into doing cool shit as I ever was!! Witnessing how they interpret the modern world is priceless.
My life is built on love, action and constant wonder. I bring that to everything that I do.
Thanks!
Sean
